Substitute Teachers come from all walks of life and industries to bring a wealth of skills and valuable experiences to the classroom! Many interested applicants are students attending college, from teacher preparation licensing programs, while others are retired classroom teachers returning to share their years of valued service. Some applicants enjoy the “flexibility” of substitute teaching as “every day is different” with diverse groups of students. Substitute teaching provides opportunities for honing your ability to work with students in a classroom setting or is a great option for working part-time to supplement your income!

As a Substitute Teacher, you can have the weekends off and choose your own schedule! One day you could be subbing in a kindergarten classroom, while a day later, be in a high school English class. A Substitute is no longer a “Babysitter” and it is not a “Free Day” for students, when the teacher is absent. You share a variety of skills and contribute in a significant way to both students and staff!
